Paper wasps build nests under eaves, in pergolas, along fence rails and inside shrubs around Brisbane. The nests start small in spring and grow through summer, and they are easy to bump while gardening, hanging washing or opening a gate. Some nests sit in gaps in cladding or deep in hedges, where they are hard to spot until the wasps become active.
Knocking a nest down yourself with a broom or hose often ends with stings. The crew we book treats the nest with the right gear, then removes it once the wasps are no longer active, which makes it less likely they rebuild in the same place. While they are there, the crew checks the rest of the yard for other nests.

Before the visit, keep children and pets away from the nest and tell us exactly where it is. If it is high up, mention the height on the phone so the right ladder comes along. Wasp work is often combined with a mosquito barrier spray, since the crew is already treating the garden and outdoor areas.
